Evoqua expands in North America with Smith Engineering acquisition

Evoqua Water Technologies has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Smith Engineering Inc, a US designer, manufacturer and servicer of custom high purity water therapy equipment.
Headquartered in Chaska, Minnesota, Smith Engineering supplies water therapy services and products, including filtration, UV, reverse osmosis, and deionization, for the biotech/pharmaceutical, knowledge centre, food and beverage, healthcare, medical system and microelectronics markets. The firm has greater than 1,200 customers in North America.
Evoqua says that the acquisition will enhance its portfolio of excessive purity water treatment systems and expand its service footprint in North America.

When the deal closes, the Smith Engineering business will be part of Evoqua’s Integrated Solutions and Services segment.
