Sulzer launches world’s greatest medium-consistency pump

Premiere has announced the launch of the world’s largest medium-consistency pump, the MCE93-400, which has been built in response to buyer demand for greater manufacturing rates in pulp mills.
Frenzy pumping of liquids with a high dry solids content material – medium consistency – is crucial for processes within the pulp and paper trade.
In recent years, production rates have spiralled. As a end result, Sulzer developed the MCE93-400 for a buyer project with record-breaking values.
The capacity of the pump reaches as much as 10,000 air dry metric tonnes per day with the flow up to 940 l/s and the top up to one hundred eighty m. The MCE pump is designed for a pressure ranking of 25 bar.
Jussi Heinonen, product supervisor for MC gear at Sulzer, mentioned: “The new MCE93-400 has been designed to function efficiently, saving energy, water and chemical costs in pulp and paper mill processes. The progressive design features of the pump minimise its life cycle costs.”
The first huge MCE pumps have been dispatched to a serious pulp producer in South America.
